Challenge

Difficulties of culvert construction: The confined space inside culverts makes heavy steel formwork hard to transport. High lateral concrete pressure may cause formwork bulging and slurry leakage. Steel formwork tends to corrode in humid environment. Variable culvert cross-sections bring difficulties in formwork matching. Rough concrete surface after pouring requires plastering and increases costs.

Our Solution

Plastic steel formwork is suitable for cast-in-place concrete construction of culverts. The lightweight panels can be manually carried and assembled on site. No crane is required in the narrow working space inside culverts to improve formwork erection efficiency. The dense and smooth forming surface ensures that the side walls and top slabs of culverts have a clean surface after concrete pouring, and no plastering is needed after demoulding. Modular panels adapt to culvert cross-section shapes. With good rigidity, the formwork is resistant to bulging and deformation during pouring, delivering accurate dimensions of finished components. Made of plastic steel, it is moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant, and will not easily rust in underground and water-adjacent culvert environments. It can be reused for multiple construction cycles with easy demoulding and low damage, achieving a lower comprehensive cost than traditional steel formwork.
